Happy Full Moon in Libra! 🌕♎⚖️

On Saturday, April 12 the moon will be full in the sign of Libra at 5:22pm PT. Libra is the sign of balance—really the perfect energy we need to stabilize ourselves following eclipse season and the retrogrades!

The Libran moon supports us in cultivating not just balance, but fairness, beauty, and honesty. Take some time over the next few days to consider where you could be more fair and honest with yourself or others, or how you can bring more beauty into your every day routines. But more importantly, notice how doing any of these things makes you feel.

The 8 of Cups: Walking Courageously Into Uncertainty

DruidCraft Tarot

If we were to step in to the 8 of cups card, standing on the shores while the figure walks away, we would also notice that, in the moments after a total solar eclipse, the dark new moon continues along its path revealing the sun’s bright light again, reminding us of the potential for new beginnings, for new possibilities.

The 8 of Cups asks us to trust that this unknown future is exactly the future we need. Of course, this is no easy task!

We are conditioned to create routines, patterns, so that the brain and nervous system feel safe— as the reptilian part of our brains and our nervous systems prefer predictability.

And when those routines or patterns are disrupted, our nervous system notices! It may trigger states of fear and anxiety, which could be minor or could be so powerful as to trigger some serious fight, flight, or freeze responses, such as defensiveness, avoidance, and even a sense of paralysis that prevents us from taking any action.

But the 8 of Cups, with all of its symbols indicating that we are on the right track (as discussed in the last edition), suggests that instead of moving into anxiety, we can reframe fear of the unknown as excitement! You may have heard before that fear and excitement are two sides of the same coin. They create the same sensations in the body, but it’s how we “think” about those sensations that can make all the difference.

In other words, what if moving into uncertain and unknown phases of our lives wasn’t ONLY scary (because of course it’s scary), but couldn’t they also be considered potent times for opening up to new experiences, opportunities to expand your sense of self, to move towards a future that might feel more aligned with who you truly are?

Light Seer’s Tarot

Now THAT sounds exciting!! But how do we get there?

To begin, it’s important: 1) knowing when your nervous system is dysregulated (anxiety, faster heartbeat, shutting down are just a few clues), and 2) knowing how to regulate your nervous system (check out this edition for some suggestions in the ritual section—this ritual is unlocked for all subscribers!).

Monitoring your self-talk is also key. If you do sense fear or anxiety arising, what are you telling yourself about it? Are you trying to shut it down? Are your thoughts amplifying the fear? Or is it possible to dialogue with the fear, and find out what it needs?

And of course another way to support a reframe and ease fear is through the power of ritual. And this full moon, I’m sharing a beautiful practice passed down through the ages…

Finding Medicine in an Ancient Greek Full Moon Ritual

For this full moon ritual, we’ll be working with an ancient, powerful ritual from the Greeks, to help us harness this concept of “reframing fear” with the light of the full moon to illuminate our next steps and give us the courage to move forward.

NOTE: “Getting Started With” practices and Full Moon rituals are for paid subscribers only. For only $5 per month (or less with a year subscription), you can receive THIS ritual PLUS all past rituals, journal prompts, and more including the complete series of Major Arcana cards from past cycles!
